KT Develops Next-generation IPv6-based WiBro System

A next-generation WiBro (Wireless Broadband) system based on IPv6 (Internet Protocol Version 6) technologies has been heralded by the Korean telecom operator KT. According to KT, the new system is projected to enable usage of mobile devices, such as MP3 players and portable multimedia players, at WiBro speeds of 2 to 3Mbps when moving at as fast as 120 kilometers per hour. Other participants in KT's WiBro project include POSDATA, IMnetpia, and Infravalley.
